Short Post

Hi everyone!

great to see lively discussions going on. Everyone is entitled to their own views, so please dont take any comments personal or what k. Learn to respect the differences in people.

Anyway, wow... long post by Weishan, my mind is in a daze now, busy rushing assignment and brain not thinking too well. But in response, i just feel i can make a little comment.

We all wear a mask, some hide more, some hide less. But the reason we do that is because deep within us, we are afraid that other people will not accept us if we take that facade off. We all have insecurities. It is normal. That is why we got to learn to love one another.

What is love? The famous verse in corinthians, love is patient, love is kind etc. In short, to me, love means accepting a person for who they are. This does not mean you must agree with everything the person is doing, yet, you tell the person that despite of all these, they are valued and important. If you can only accept a person when they are riding the waves in good times, then disappear the moment a problem crops up. That is not love at all. I always believe in a chinese proverb i learnt in primary 6, Huan Nan Jian Zhen Qing, if my hanyu pinyin is bad, or if you simply have no idea what i am talking about, it is better known in english as, "a friend in need, is a friend indeed."

Can we afford to love each other more? I certain believe so. Nobody is perfect. If you know me, i have a mountain load of weakness. Haha... maybe many of you can attest to that, but like Weishan said, lets be true to ourselves. There will always be a fear in us to take off that mask, because it hides us from our vulnerabilities.

But, in every friendship and relationship, there is always risk involved. What if, the person does not accept me for who i am. So will everyone accept us, when we choose to take off our masks? I believe not all, but i believe many will. Yet why take the risk of getting hurt? Of getting rejected? Because, when we choose to take that risk, we open up a door where there can be true communion. Where each other can know that they are true, and no pretense. In the atmosphere of trust, can a friendship really blossom.

Lets build a cg where we accept who each other, for who we are. Weakness and all.
